The Project Management Office (PMO) of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks a Project Controls Staff Member for the project controls efforts on either a large-scale scientific research and development project or large scientific instrument projects.

Major Duties/
Responsibilities:
Work with the project controls lead and Control Account Managers (CAMs) to develop and maintain:
Project work breakdown structure (WBS) and dictionary; Summary and detailed, logic driven, resource loaded schedules; Summary and detailed cost estimates; Actual costs and accrual integration; Risk identification and risk analysis; Change control; and Provide day-to-day support to the project with schedule and cost maintenance and status, forecasting and conducting what-if analysis.
Assist in generating monthly reports on project status and performance, to include analysis on SPI/CPI, variance explanation and critical path and near critical paths; Attend technical and management meetings to understand and report status accurately; Perform ad-hoc activities as directed by the project controls lead; Support the CAMs and project management staff in preparing for various project reviews, including internal and external project status reviews; Develop, present, and reinforce project management process and systems training for all applicable project staff, specifically the project control account managers (CAMs).
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience successfully performing project controls duties as noted above for research-based project(s) within the DOE or Department of Defense (DOD) or relevant industrial experience.
Solid understanding of project controls best practices regarding scope, time, cost, change and risk management.
Significant experience with Primavera.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in project or construction management, business, engineering or equivalent.
Seven
years of experience successfully performing project controls duties as noted above for research-based project(s) within the DOE Office of Science within a national laboratory environment.
Eight years of project experience working within a complex Critical Path Method (CPM) network.
Significant hands-on experience with:
Oracle Primavera, Deltek Cobra or similar cost processors, maintenance programs, risk analysis and simulation software, change control applications, and custom system and report development.
Experience with oversight of large subcontracts.
Integration of subcontractor schedules into the project schedule, attend regular team meetings to review progress, troubleshoot issues, communicate changes or urgent needs, and status updates.
Experience in developing and presenting training on project management principles or tools, specifically CAM training.
Experience with preparing for and participating in Independent Project Reviews (IPRs) and EVMS surveillance reviews.
Very strong communications skills, with the ability to successfully interact with DOE, project reviewers, senior laboratory management and senior project staff members.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
