20 PURPOSE:
This position supports the implementation and execution of educationally based internship, fellowship, and research participation programs sponsored by national laboratories, federal agencies and other sponsors by performing key program management functions with the intent of the overall mission and the core values of the institution, including placing a primary emphasis on the student learner.
The position will manage all aspects of a project (program), from start to finish, so that it is administered on time and within budget.
The position functions with little supervision and is able to handle conflict and negotiate effective solutions in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project, monitor progress and performance against the project plan and take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
Works with the Associate Managers and other Project Managers to establish standards of performance and implement quality control measures.
Formulate, prepare and deliver reports, briefs, evaluation and other materials.
Set priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
Conduct planning, scheduling, assigning resources, and monitoring/tracking progress on projects.
Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
Assist ORAU with business development activities as required.
Represent the group, Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Workforce Development (WD), and ORISE/ORAU on various committees and professional societies, and at national meetings and public forums.
Plan and manage applicant recruitment approaches for assigned programs.
This involves developing outreach/promotional strategies, preparing program announcements/flyers, and participating in professional meetings, conferences, campus fairs, etc.
for recruitment purposes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, scientific, technical, education or related field and 3-5 years of job-related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements.
Effectively utilize project management best practices, processes, and systems.
Interpersonal Skills needed to perform this role:
Leadership Communication Influencing Decision Making Negotiation Trust Building Conflict Management Must have a knowledge of policies, requirements, and procedures involved in the recruitment of STEM internship programs including effective, cost-efficient methods such as web and social media tools to recruit large numbers of highly qualified, diverse applicants.
Must possess the ability to establish standards of performance and implement quality control measures, formulate, prepare and deliver reports, briefs, evaluation and other materials.
Must possess the ability to develop effective working relationships with the wide array of participant types, mentors, sponsors, federal agencies, and professional organizations.
Travel of 5-25 days annually is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer relations/customer service skills is required.
Advanced computer skills (proficient in the use of MS Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; and knowledge of Web publishing, SharePoint and database applications) is required.
Ability to use data to advance program management is desired.
The candidate's starting salary will be determined upon hire and ORAU will use salary survey data, internal comparators, and the candidate's qualifications to determine salary.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
