Responsibilities:
Perform MAC (move, adds, changes) Field Technician functions related to telecommunications equipment, circuits, wiring, cabling, and jacks at both the customer end location and throughout the OSP infrastructure. This work includes interpreting service orders, trouble tickets, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics; and installing, rearranging, and removing equipment and associated wiring.
Position
Responsibilities:
Perform customer telecom installations, MAC, and maintenance requests
Perform outside plant work related to installation of new cable and services
Install inside building wiring and jacks
Install and splice ISP and OSP copper and fiber cabling
Diagnose and repair telecom circuits and equipment
Drive and maintain a Company vehicle
Maintain equipment and material inventory - truck
Interface with Service Order Center on service order and trouble ticket status

Qualifications:
Minimum
Qualifications:
OSP/ISP diagnostics and problem solving
2 yrs OSP/ISP telecom experience
Must have a valid drivers license
Customer Service skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have active or obtain a DOE Q Security Clearance
Preferred
Qualifications:
OSP/ISP diagnostics and problem solving
Nortel/Avaya PBX operations and maintenance experience
Cisco and Avaya VOIP operations and maintenance experience
5 years OSP/ISP telecom construction placing and splicing experience
Must have a valid drivers license
Strong Customer Service skills.
Current activeDOE Q Security Clearance
AA Degree or equivalent in an appropriate and relevant discipline from an accredited school, college or university, and four (4) years or more of relevant experience. May require certification on specific systems.
Physical Requirements:
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
Work Environment:
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment and Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance:
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40 hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
