CoorsTek currently has an opportunity available for a talented Quality Control Inspector II. This position will be located in Oak Ridge, TN .
Position Summary : Responsible for inspection of incoming and outgoing product for the facility through a variety of methods per department specifications.
Essential Functions :
Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
May conduct visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to appropriate personnel.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. Uses judgment and discretion to determine workability of part.
May be required to maintain and control the required product contamination/containment procedures.
Inspects product in-process and/or completed products to ensure compliance with customer and CoorsTek quality requirements per departmental procedures.
Documents data obtained during all quality inspection activities, consistent with Company policies and procedures.
May utilize Infinity or other SPC computer programs to accurately enter transactions necessary for timely and accurate reporting.
Proficient in use of precision inspection equipment tools such as micrometers, calipers, microscope, X-Ray, and basic Smartscope and RAM operations.
Demonstrates competency in use of attribute and variable acceptance sampling methods.
Reads and uses diagrams and drawings, using judgment and discretion in determining workability of part. Determines salvageability of defective items.
Performs set-up work for performing checks and measurements on various mechanical devices to correct for weight and thickness adjustments.
Ensures that all non-conforming product is correctly identified and isolated until disposition (rework or scrap) can be determined. / /
May be required to understand and demonstrate proficiency in geometric tolerances.
May be responsible for proper contamination/containment control.
Utilizes the manufacturing computer system to accurately enter part transfers, scrap and any other transactions necessary to maintain accurate and timely records and for basic departmental functions.
Participants in continuous improvement efforts, supporting and implementing new ideas.
Maintains a positive and respective attitude: cooperates with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, as applicable.
Willing accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees.
Maintains good attendance and punctuality and an acceptable level of job performance.
Other Responsibility:
Knows and follows all safety requirements, including emergency evacuation; strives to maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to lead or supervisor. All employees will be responsible for knowing where non-hazardous waste collection containers are located and for putting non-hazardous wastes in appropriate containers.
Performs detail oriented tasks using basic language and intermediate math skills.
Exhibits good cooperation and communication skills to effectively work within a team environment.
Effectively gives and receives feedback; willingly asks questions and seeks direction, as needed.
Maintains acceptable level of cleanliness in the work area.
Assists in any and all areas as assigned.
May work any and all shifts/days as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Skill Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED and/or 2 years previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to perform intermediate math skills, i.e. algebra.
Must successfully complete basic metrology or equivalent job experience.
Ability to use precision measuring tools.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
