The Department of Energy Consolidated Service Center in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking students interested in competing for an intern position that has potential to lead to permanent employment after graduation; however, conversion is not mandatory or guaranteed. Some appointments may be extended or may be eligible for conversion if eligibility requirements are met. Students will perform a wide variety of duties in the business field designed to meet DOE's mission and the student's learning objectives. Sample Duties:
Work will involve progressively responsible tasks designed to increase knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to contractor industrial relations work. Duties will include reviewing and advising on Human Resources programs implemented by Department of Energy (DOE) contractors. Students will review and recommend collective bargaining parameters; review compensation; benefits; and related packages; assure potential contractors have drug-free workplace programs in place that comply with established standards and guidelines, and will become involved in a variety of progressively responsible functions that impact DOE contractor human resources programs. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
