Postdoctoral Research Associate - Energy Systems

Requisition Id 5700

Overview:

Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks a systems engineer who will focus on optimization, stochastic modeling, estimation theory and optimal control to enable data-driven understanding of networked control systems. This position will involve working closely with a team of engineers to address challenging problems in resource optimization, cyber security, and modeling in large-scale infrastructures including sustainable energy and communications. The successful candidate will work with a technically diverse team to accelerate computationally expensive aspects of a variety of resource optimization and control problems with novel algorithmic methods. These methods will be implemented using modern tools/practices and work closely with computational scientists to scale on high performance computing (HPC). This position resides in Systems Engineering and Cybernetics Group in the Computational Sciences & Engineering Division of the Computing & Computational Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Computing and Computational Sciences Directorate conducts state-of-the-art research and development in computing and computational sciences in support of DOE's missions and programs. We develop and deploy leading edge computing and information technology capabilities to keep computational sciences at a level comparable to experimental sciences in the pursuit of scientific discovery and technical innovation.

As part of our research team, you will
